Description
After doing the Crimson Empress, I wanted to do a character that was more of a counterpoint- a heroic spellcaster to combat her villainous sorceress. Easier said than done, I found.
The problem with "Mystic" characters is usually there isn't one element tying them together to base an image around. I dabbled around with a few designs, but wasn't satisfied with them. I then found inspiration from a weird source- Belle's dress from the classic Disney film "Beauty and the Beast." I liked the look, and I bandied around the idea of doing a "superheroic" version of it. While it didn't really come through aside from the design on the upper body, it did allow a good "base" to build a look around, settling on giving Spellmaster sculpted armor that gave her a degree of protection as well as highlighting her mystic nature.
I also gave her a sceptre, deliberately designed as a counterpoint to the Crimson Empress' staff. I decided to shorten it up a bit, to make it look a bit more like a mace. The problem I feel with a lot of mystic characters is that they are lot of "Stand around and point" characters who don't do a lot of interesting things in combat. With her sceptre, it gives Spellmaster a degree of physicality to her abilities, allowing her to weild it like a club or mace if need be.

I have been working on the same thing as well but I used a different story and used a spell book that's a bracelet and it can evolve.
